1. "Hold this money in your wallet or purse, but don't spend it, this way you know you have money for gas but can think of ways to get and make money." This technique gives the client financial relief and freedom to explore longer term solutions.
2. Wait until the client expresses a need, not a want before initiating a financial intervention. But always be attuned to the needs of the client and help them explore their needs. A client able to express his needs is in a better position to get those needed satisfied.
