14. The Community Approach

In many countries and cultures, there exists a community economy that enables its members to weather bad times. Quite often there are little savings, yet, despite having precious little, people lend money to family and friend in mutual support.

This aspect of community informs the work of Careful Giving Corporation.

We have, in modern society, evolved banking systems and deemphasized community support. Modern society has created the dreaded spectre of "Credit Score" instead of the calm knowledge that there are family and friend who will be there in need. No denigration of our modern financial systems is intended, but our client population is often cut off from financial services.
