Yet, this client achieved self sufficiency within two years after this event despite having been dependent in status since childhood. Client started part time work, then found full time work and stopped food stamps. Client also reunited with a family who had essentially dismissed the client as too needy and demanding. During the course of the three years of our service we frequently helped the client with money through the non-profit. The amounts were small. For example, money was given for clothes and makeup for job interviews. Traditional counseling and guidance were helpful in her growth. The client has been stable for four years.
