2019.09.13 PTSD, Locked on Shock

(Editor: this picture of a bell curve is a place holder that will be replaced with a more detailed bell curve illustrating standard deviations, which are the values in the equations below.)

Standard Deviations from the normal distribution of the measured variables are the values of: shock, individual differences, and gender in the equations.

PTSD (or, Locked on Shock) is the vector addition of

[+Intensity, +Duration] shock
[+Sensitivity, -Intelligence] Individual differences
[+Female, -Verbal] Gender

Explanation:
Line 1: Shock, the greater the intensity and duration of the shock, the greater is the likelihood of PTSD.

Line 2: Individual differences, PTSD development increases with the individual characteristic of sensitivity to stimulation of highly sensitive people but decreases in people who are protected from PTSD by their intelligence.

Line 3: Gender, female gender (an ill defined characteristic that includes both sex and lack of aggression) gives an increased likelihood of PTSD especially if verbal skills are lacking.

[PTSD is an expression of anxiety as is dissociation]
