2018.11.03 Understanding Financial Self Advocacy by a Medical Analogy

An analysis of aiding clients to become financially self reliant borrows analogously from the following medical intervention:

targeted electrical stimulation and an intelligent bodyweight-support system. Moreover, they exhibited no leg-muscle fatigue, and so there was no deterioration in stepping quality. These longer, high-intensity training sessions proved crucial for triggering activity-dependent plasticity -- the nervous system's intrinsic ability to reorganize nerve fibers -- which leads to improved motor function even when the electrical stimulation is turned off. In the above medical example, it is the highly targeted intervention that does not need constant stimulation. Compare this to global stimulation (cf. universal income) which stops when global stimulation stops.

When we review any type of universal income, successful outcomes are noted in post review when there is constant oversight, social work in a real sense, which accompanies the financial interventions.
