In mechanics and physics, Saint Venant's priciple states that two distinctily different but statistically identical loads will affect the outcome in the same way at an infinite distance.
How very much this reminds me of the idea of stressors on ourselves and clients. Good stress and bad stress affect our ability to function. The actuarial tables of professional insurers rate divorce on the par with marriage; getting a new job with being fired. The stressors are different but of similar intensity, affecting us, demanding our complete attention, worry and sense of change. The disease causing ratio in the actuarial tables is similar for good and bad events.
